MOUNT BAKER, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The final stretch up to Artist Point is officially closed for the season.

WSDOT crews closed the gate to the last 2.7 miles of the Mount Baker Highway Sunday afternoon, Oct. 25 due to snowy conditions.

Anyone looking to recreate beyond the closure point is urged to check weather conditions before trekking out.

Services at Artist Point, like restrooms and trash removal, are limited.

The last few miles of the Mount Baker Highway typically reopens around mid-June.
