BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The City of Bellingham is adding more park space to its property portfolio.

City Councilmembers approved the purchase of two plots of land during their meeting on Monday, February 27th.

A 12-acre wetland area near the Guide will add more space to Cordata Park.

And another four acres off of Yew Street will be developed into an “access point” for trails heading to Lake Padden and Whatcom Falls Park.

The city will spend just over $1 million to purchase both plots, with some funding coming from the city’s Greenways levy.
