BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham woman is in custody after allegedly attempting to kill someone who had a no-contact order against her.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater said that deputies responded to the Chuckanut area after the victim was stabbed around 1 a.m. on Monday, 10th.

The victim confirmed that they had been stabbed by a woman, but they were not sure where she went.

Deputies searching the victim’s home found a driver’s license belonging to 51-year-old Shereen Dorsch.

An active protection order stated that Dorsch was not allowed within 500 feet of the victim’s residence.

Deputies later found Dorsch hiding in a gun safe within a closet, which contained nine firearms.

Along with attempted murder and burglary charges, Dorsch faces nine counts of unlawful firearms possession.

She remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $250,000 bail.
