NORTH CASCADES, Wash. – It’s official, folks.

The North Cascades highway is open for the season.

WSDOT says a long line of cars, trucks, motorcycles and cyclists queued up on both sides of Washington Pass last Wednesday in anticipation of the opening of Highway 20.

The Forest Service and National Parks facilities may still be closed though, so if you’re heading that way for a hike, to take in the views, or just heading to eastern Washington, check in with them to see where you can and cannot stop.
