OLYMPIA, Wash. – With boating season in full swing, the Washington State Department of Ecology is reminding boaters that our inland waters and the Puget Sound are No Discharge Zones.
This means no vessels, commercial or private, are allowed to release sewage into those areas.
The agency says pump out stations are available at over 100 marinas across the state to dispose of the waste.
Pumping the waste instead of dumping it keeps are waters and beaches healthy for people and sea life.
A free app is available to help locate pumpout locations, more information can be found at PumpoutWashington.org.
