OLYMPIA, Wash. – The battle over Idaho’s new restrictive abortion law continues.

Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced Tuesday that he’s leading a coalition of 20 attorney generals in filing a legal argument challenging the law which makes it a crime for adults to help minors travel out-of-state for abortion care.

The challenge to the law was initially filed in a district court in Idaho last month by an attorney working with victims of sexual assault.

Ferguson says the law doesn’t only endanger minors from Idaho, but also punishes medical providers in Washington and other states for helping them access legal abortion services.

He’s encouraging anyone with concerns about violations of reproductive rights to file a complaint with the AG’s office.
