OLYMPIA, Wash. – State Republicans elected a new leader and made an early 2024 endorsement over the weekend.
Aberdeen Rep. Jim Walsh was elected as the party’s chair during a meeting in Olympia on Saturday, according to the Northwest News Network.
He proceeds current Puyallup chairman Caleb Heimlich, who has served in the role since 2018.
Rep. Walsh said that he’ll focus on increasing voter turnout during his time as Chairman.
Additionally, a majority of state Republicans voted to endorse Joe Kent’s 2024 bid for Congress.
Kent lost the same role by a slim margin in 2022 to Marie Gluesenkamp-Perez.
