BELLLINGHAM, WA – A Kent man charged in a fatal January hit-and-run on the Guide has been sentenced.
37-year-old Teofilo Uribe pled guilty to vehicular homicide on Tuesday in Whatcom County Superior Court.
Uribe will spend nearly a decade behind bars for his role in the crash that killed 49-year-old Tarria Conger.
Court documents state that Uribe was drunk when he slammed into Conger’s vehicle on January 6.
The force of the crash pushed both vehicles a full block down the Guide Meridian before Conger’s car burst into flames.
Uribe fled the scene but was arrested a short time later.
He admitted to officers that he had been drinking prior to the crash.
