WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Whatcom County’s unemployment rate rose slightly in the state’s latest jobs report.
According to the Employment Security Department, the county’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate sat at 5.1% in February.
That was just a tick above January’s rate of 5% and was slightly lower than the same time a year ago.
Meanwhile, the state’s jobless rate stayed the same in the newly released report for March, while ending a three-month streak of job growth.
The seasonally adjusted rate of 5.1% is still Washington’s highest since 2021.
The March jobs report for Whatcom County will be released on Tuesday, May 5.
