CUSTER, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Heads up if you’re planning on travelling up towards the border.

WSDOT says that both of the rest areas on I-5 in Custer are closed for waterline repairs as of Monday morning.

A reopening date for those areas has not been announced.

The Custer rest areas were also shuttered for several days earlier this month due to a power outage.

During the closure, the Bow Hill rest areas will be the closest available stop for travelers.
