BELINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A magnitude 5.o earthquake was recorded off the coast of Canada’s Vancouver Island at approximately 8 p.m. Thursday night.
The US Geological Survey says the 5.0 earthquake was centered about 125 miles west of Vancouver Island. Some Washington residents were rattled by the overnight earthquake; at least one person reported feeling trembles in the Mount Vernon area.
Minor rumbles were felt on the east coast of Vancouver Island, Seattle and even in Bellingham.
The U.S National Tsunami Warning Center has not yet issued any tsunami alerts or warnings.
