BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Another party has been approved to join a lawsuit against the owner of a property that has attracted a notorious Bellingham encampment.

A judge has granted the owner of Tullwood Apartments a motion to intervene in the City of Bellingham’s lawsuit against Li-Ching Fang of Taiwan.

Court documents noted that Fang was not present in person or through Zoom, despite several notices advising her of the hearing. Another person attending the hearing through Zoom attempted to speak on Fang’s behalf, but a court interpreter found that the person was not an attorney and couldn’t submit any comment.

An attorney for the owner of Tullwood Apartments claimed that the lawsuit wasn’t moving fast enough, which puts their residents’ health and safety at risk.

Tullwood Apartments is located west of the encampment and across the street from Walmart in north Bellingham.

MyBellinghamNow staff Jason Upton and Sam Kristofferson entered the encampment in January 2024, speaking to inhabitants of the property and community members.
