Patricia Ann Rizzuto (Maddux) closed her eyes on May 28, 2024, and peacefully said goodbye to a life well-lived.
Pat was born August 1st, 1932, in Lincoln Nebraska to Reese and Edith Maddux. A graduate of Shadle High School class of 1950, she married Michael J. Rizzuto on September 18th, 1952.
Pat and Mike partnered Westgate Builders and settled in Edmonds, enjoying the benefits of a successful business and raising their three children. She remained in Edmonds, a community she loved, volunteering at the Edmonds Senior Center for over 30 years, singing in the Edmonds Chorale, and creating a family of friends while enjoying her favorite hobby of bowling at Robin hood Lanes.
Never one to sit still, Pat had a zest for life and was incredibly devoted to her family and friends. Many fond memories include her famous Halloween parties, being a founding member of the Back-Stop Betties, her always delicious pies and holiday treats, and being the ever-present and most supportive grandma on the sidelines at any and all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sports and events.
She loved to travel, always off to visit family and friends, participating in traveling bowling leagues, road trips, cruises, and beyond. Pat was an avid crochet enthusiast, making her family afghans and slippers for warmth and comfort.
Shockingly funny with a bit of sarcasm, impeccably dressed and always manicured, loving, adventurous, kind and giving, we will remember our beautiful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend every time we hear a train announce its passage through town, see a woman protect her curls with toilet tissue and a satin pillowcase, or hear a Tom Jones hit.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents Reese and Edith Maddux, longtime partner, John Vanderhalf, siblings Alice Fraker, Samuel Maddux, and Ron Maddux, and in-laws Jack Rizzuto, Sam Rizzuto, Tom Rizzuto, and Myrna Rizzuto.
She leaves behind a well-loved family including her son, Michael Rizzuto; daughters Leanne Shannon and Karen Keown; grandchildren Ryan (Cici) Shannon, Heather Rodriguez, Kati (Elena) Shannon, Holly (Josh) Shannon, Lindsey Shannon, Michael Keown, Bennett (Sarah) Keown, and Beau (Lauren) Keown, 14 great-grandchildren, and 17 nieces and nephews.
