BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The City of Bellingham is asking residents for feedback on the future of a major source of drinking water.

The draft of the Lake Whatcom Management Program Work Plan is now available for public comment.

The five-year work plan is coordinated between Whatcom County, Bellingham and the Lake Whatcom Water and Sewer District to protect the lake’s water quality and ecological health. It focuses on 12 key areas, including stormwater management, recreation, invasive species and climate action.

Public comment is being accepted through Aug. 25 and will be considered in the development of the final work plan later this year.
