SEATTLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Commuters who regularly head towards Seattle are in store for even more slowdowns in the new year.

Amazon began instituting its 5-day-a-week in-office mandate as of Jan. 2. Previously, team leaders determined if their team would work hybrid, fully remote, or fully in office.

However, that changed last year when Amazon CEO Andy Jassy instituted a mandatory 3-day-a-week in-office requirement.

That policy was changed again last September, as Jassy noted “significant improvements” once employees were able to collaborate in-person.

Businesses and roads around the company’s offices in Seattle and Bellevue are expected to get even busier, especially during rush hour.
