BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – As Valentine’s Day steadily approaches events celebrating self-love, friendship and romantic relationships are popping up all over Whatcom County.

Whether you’re looking for a tasty bite, a bit of live music, a creative connection or a free event, there is something for everyone happening during Valentine’s Day weekend. There’s even a show on Feb. 13 for those feeling more anti-Valentine’s Day this year.

I Heart B’Ham Celebration

The Downtown Bellingham Partnership is putting on a festive community event on Feb. 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Commercial Street Plaza. The event is for all ages and is a way to shop locally, participate in themed activities and enjoy some live music. Permanent jewelry, treats, a photo booth and glitter tattoos are some of the many pop-ups that will be featured.

Dinner at Bar Cicotti

An intimate dinner will be held on Feb. 14 at Bar Cicotti, with two seatings at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Those interested can purchase a four-course meal for $75 and an optional wine pairing for $45. The restaurant is taking reservations in preparation for the big day and can cater to dietary restrictions with advanced notice.

Dinner at Hotel Leo

Hotel Leo is hosting two separate dinner events during the Valentine’s Day weekend. On both Feb. 14 and 15 the hotel is holding a dinner from 4 to 9 p.m. The dinner menu features special items such as duck leg confit, braised lamb shank, poached sturgeon and cauliflower steak. The first night will be set to live music from Soul*drift, and the second night will be accompanied by the sound of CraigO’s Planet Groove. Reservations can be made through Hotel Leo’s website.

Love Grows Here

Kulshan Community Land Trust is hosting a benefit dinner at Bar 211 on Feb. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. The multi-course meal will be followed by live music from members of Flowmotion, Baby Cakes and The Dip. Tickets are $150 per person and include salad, dinner and dessert. Proceeds will go toward Kulshan Community Land Trust’s mission to make homeownership more affordable.

Fresh Flower Pop Up Shop

A pop-up flower shop will be in Packers Kitchen + Bar at Semiahmoo Resort on Feb. 14 at 11 a.m. The booth will be open as long as supplies last.

Paint Sip Love

A creative experience will also be taking place at Semiahmoo on Feb. 14. Singles, friends and couples are invited to take part in a paint and sip from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Participants will be creating a lighthouse piece with free supplies and step-by-step instructions. Tickets should be booked in advance, and the base price is $10, with the option of adding on a charcuterie, truffles and glasses of wine.

Hearts On Canvas: Rediscover Yourself Through Art

Another opportunity to explore your creative side will take place on Feb. 14 at The Majestic Ballroom from 3 to 5 p.m. This workshop costs $50 and is described as a “transformative journey of self-discovery and empowerment.” Materials are provided, no experience is necessary and early sign-up is advised.

Sound Bath

The Firehouse Arts & Event Center will hold a sound bath sound meditation journey with Kristi Moseley from Mystic Heart on Feb. 14. The event is described as a full-body relaxation experience that will soothe anxiety and facilitate inner connection. A yoga mat, blanket and small pillow are encouraged for maximum comfort. The sound bath will take place from 7 to 8:15 p.m. and tickets cost $26 to $28.

Massage Workshop

Couple’s massage workshops will be held on Feb. 14 and 17 at Kara’s Beauty Barn. Couples will learn from a massage therapist and have access to their own private massage room. The class focuses on relaxation with massage creams, oils and hot stones provided. A sauna, jacuzzi and relaxation area are available before the class begins. It will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and costs $100 per couple.

Karaoke at Wild Buffalo

Wild Buffalo House of Music is holding free karaoke on Feb. 14. Doors will open at 8 p.m. and the show will begin at 9 p.m. All are welcome to showcase their vocal talents or simply attend as an audience member. There is no advanced registration required.

Anti-Valentine Vinyl Dance Party

The Shakedown is hosting an anti-Valentine vinyl dance party on Feb. 13 for the Valentine’s Day haters out there. “Love Will Tear Us Apart” will be run by DJ Mandy Moorhol and is limited to individuals over 21. The show begins at 8:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased for $10 in advance.

My Circus Valentine

The Bellingham Circus Guild is showing My Circus Valentine from Feb. 13 to Feb. 16 for its 15th anniversary. There will be four 21+ showings and two for all ages. Tickets should be purchased in advance and discounts are available on a need-based scale. Performances from aerialists, jugglers and other circus stars will take place as the act tells a magical story of love.

DeVotchKa at the Mount Baker Theatre

Mount Baker Theatre is presenting DeVotchKa on Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The Colorado-based quartet plays a mixture of cabaret, spaghetti Western, norteño, punk and immigrant dance music from Eastern Europe. The group was formed by Nick Urata, Tom Hagerman, Jeanie Schroder and Shawn King. They were nominated for a Grammy in 2006 for their soundtrack featured in “Little Miss Sunshine.” Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 the day of the show.
