Mariners News

The Mariners edged out the Red Sox this afternoon to win their fifth-straight series. Seattle scored all of its runs in the first two innings and beat Boston 4-3 in their final game at Fenway.

Mitch Garver started them off with a 2-run double off the Green Monster in the first before Dylan Moore and Julio Rodriguez each drove in a run in the second. Leo Rivas and JP Crawford added some help from the bottom of the lineup with two hits apiece.

Bryan Woo gave up two runs on just three hits and struck out eight in six innings to improve to 3-1 on the season. Andres Munoz tossed a scoreless ninth inning to secure the win and notch his ninth save of the season, tied for the second most in the majors. He still has yet to allow a run this season.

The Mariners have now won 10 of their last 13 games and have moved to half a game behind the Rangers for first place in the AL West. They’ll look to win their sixth-straight series this weekend when they travel back home to play the Miami Marlins. Coverage for tomorrow’s series-opener begins at 5:30 and first pitch is at 6:40 tomorrow night on KGMI.

Seahawks News

The Seahawks have a busy few days ahead of them as the NFL Draft gets underway. Seattle has the 18th overall pick in the first round today and will have four more picks tomorrow in rounds two and three. Offensive line will likely be a focus for the team after giving up the third-most sacks in the league last season.  Meanwhile, former Washington State University standout Cam Ward is the heavy favorite to go number one overall to Tennessee.  Two-way threat Travis Hunter from Colorado is also expected to go high with the hopes of bringing his unique talent as a high-level wide receiver and cornerback to the pros. Coverage for the first round in Green Bay kicks off at 4:00 on KPUG.

A longtime Seahawk has found a new home. Tyler Lockett announced last night that he’s signing with the Tennessee Titans. ESPN reports that it’s a one-year, $4 million deal that’s worth up to $6 million.

The Seahawks released Lockett last month, ending his 10-year run in Seattle as one of their most prolific pass-catchers in franchise history. He ranks second all-time in catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns for the team. The Seahawks saved roughly $17 million in cash and cap space by releasing him.

He’ll now bring a veteran presence to a Titans team that is expecting to have a new rookie quarterback after tonight.

UW Huskies Football News

The Huskies are bringing in a highly-touted recruit to bolster their offensive line. ESPN reports that four-star Oregon offensive tackle Kodi Greene has flipped his commitment to Washington. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound lineman is the 37th-ranked recruit in ESPN’s Top 300 for the 2026 class and the fifth-ranked offensive tackle.

Greene initially committed to Oregon last August, but his flip marks an enormous recruiting victory for coach Jedd Fisch and the Huskies. He now stands as the top-ranked prospect in the Huskies’ 2026 class and follows the recent addition of four-star quarterback Derek Zammit as the program’s second major commit in the month of April.

If he signs later this year, Greene will represent the Huskies’ highest-ranked addition since landing No. 1 quarterback Sam Huard in the 2021 class.
