Mariners News
The Mariners are looking to get their bats going against the Red Sox in Game 2 tonight Logan Gilbert struck out 10 of the 19 batters he faced in his return to the mound last night, but the M’s offense couldn’t give him any help in the 2-0 loss.
Gilbert gave up two runs off three hits and a walk through five innings in his first start since April 25. Boston’s newly called-up phenom Roman Anthony hit his first major league home run to help the Sox win their sixth straight.
The Mariners gathered just four hits and struck out 15 times, as their three-game streak came to a close. They loaded the bases in the third on three straight singles, but their next three batters struck out to fumble their best shot at scoring.
With the win, the Red Sox overtook the M’s for the final wild card spot in the American League. Seattle will try to even the series tonight with Bryan Woo taking the mound.
Coverage begins at 5:30 and first pitch is at 6:40 on KPUG.
