FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The City of Ferndale’s Arts Commission is currently accepting applications for an artist to create a massive mural downtown.

The mural will be over 44′ wide and 17′ in height, cover 750 square feet and should welcome visitors to the city.

The Arts Commission wants the work to incorporate Ferndale landmarks, local character and the community’s identity.

Applicants need to submit an artist statement, portfolio of relevant work, a project approach and professional references. Artists will also need to submit proof of insurance and business information, if applicable.

The budget for the downtown mural project is $11,250.

The submission deadline is July 14, and the artist will be selected on July 18.
