BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The wind is howling, the rain has settled in and darker days lie ahead.  For those looking to bundle up and plot a course for a fun in Whatcom County this weekend, we have you covered in this edition of Lifestyle Lookout.

iDiOM Theater’s production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night started Thursday, Nov. 6 and runs through Nov. 20 with nine shows.  It’s a comedy rooted in longing, laughter and lunacy told through shipwrecks, mistaken identities and unrequited love.

First performed way back at the turn of the 17th century, Twelfth Night is a fun take on the Christmas season.  It’s also a rare opportunity to see Shakespeare performed at the iDiOM, so get your tickets now at idiomtheater.org.

The holiday season is fast approaching and this weekend offers a great opportunity to get a headstart on your shopping.

The 43rd annual Holiday Bazaar at Bellingham Covenant Church is on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  More than 50 vendors will be on site selling a variety of handmade goods.  Crafts, jewelry, artwork, clothing and more will be available.  Plus, money from the sale of baked goods will go to local charities.

What better way to kick off the holiday shopping season than at this holiday bazaar?  It’s a free event.

If you happen to head up to the far northern reaches (AKA Ferndale) this weekend, you are in store for something extra special.

The 25th annual Nordic Fest is on Saturday at the Ferndale Events Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The Daughters of Norway will have all-day entertainment, vendors, gifts and crafts, and a Scandinavian bakery and Norsk café, all to enjoy as attendees take in the glory of the Bunad parade.

Admission to Nordic Fest is $5 for adults.  Kids under 12 are free.

First up, Felly will bring his brand of indie alt hip hop to Wild Buffalo for a show on Saturday night.  Fans of everything from Frank Ocean to Sublime don’t want to miss this one.

Opening for Felly is Pheonix’s Breakup Shoes.  The show starts at 9 p.m.

For fans of heavy music, there’s another show on Saturday night.  Two bands from Seattle are making the trip north to Shakedown to help Bellingham embrace the darkness.

Re-buried and Noroth both play a brand of death metal that we don’t hear much around these parts anymore.  Fans of Entombed, Cannibal Corpse and Bellingham legends Black Breath are going to love this one.

The lineup also includes local riff lords Human Puzzle and SKELM.
