BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Flight cancellations due to the government shutdown have now hit Bellingham International Airport (BLI).

The Port of Bellingham (POB) says that some of their flights are being impacted after the directive to cull flights across the country went into effect on Friday.

According to their website, at least one Alaska flight servicing Seattle has been cancelled.

POB is urging anyone flying out of BLI to check their flight status online before they head to the airport.

Further south, flight tracking website FlightAware says that 28 flights have been cancelled and nearly 60 others have been delayed.
