WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A motorist was rescued after being stranded in a remote part of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest for two days.

Whatcom County Fire District 14 says the rescue took place on Hannegan Pass Road last Thursday, Jan. 8.

The man had been stuck in his car due to heavy snow on the road.

First responders say he wasn’t hurt and seemed to be in good spirits despite the circumstances.

Volunteers with Whatcom County Search & Rescue helped tow him back to pavement.

Fire District 14 is reminding travelers to bring the right equipment when passing over the mountains, since conditions can change quickly.
