BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Local warming shelters are extending their availability as overnight temperatures continue to drop.

Bellingham’s overnight severe weather shelter on N. Forest Street will be reopening from Saturday through next Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Check-in runs from 4 to 8 p.m., with check-out at 8 a.m. the following morning.

The city’s daytime warming shelter at the old Lighthouse Mission Drop-In Center will re-open from Sunday through Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Further north, Ferndale’s overnight shelter remains open through Saturday.

And the Lighthouse Mission will continue to welcome guests daily, with check-in at 7 p.m. and check-out the following morning at 8 a.m.

It comes as overnight lows in Bellingham are forecast to dip below freezing this weekend.
