WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A shelter in place order has been lifted on Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.
A spokesperson for the station said they received a report of a suspicious package at Ault Field around 12:30 Friday afternoon, June 12.
In response, it ordered all personnel to shelter in place and closed all gates at Ault Field to incoming traffic.
The package was determined not to pose a threat and the order was lifted at 3 pm. A spokesperson for NAS Whidbey says the shelter in place order is standard procedure for this sort of incident.
