WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Point Roberts man has been indicted on federal charges following an incident at the border earlier this year.
Court documents were filed Wednesday, Oct. 21 with the Western District of Washington against 34-year-old Brandon Brandreth-Gibbs.
My Bellingham Now previously reported on Brandreth-Gibbs’ arrest in February after he smashed border patrol vehicles and windows with an axe.
The federal indictment was filed in connection to that incident, where Brandreth-Gibbs also threatened to return to the border checkpoint with a bomb.
Federal charges include destruction of government property and threatening federal officers.
Brandreth-Gibbs has been in custody at the Whatcom County Jail since February, where he’s expected to remain until his federal case moves forward.
