TACOMA, Wash. – Former Seattle SuperSonics star Shawn Kemp was released from custody following his arrest in a drive-by shooting.

Officers arrested Kemp after the drive-by shooting near the Tacoma Mall shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8th.

But on Thursday, the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office announced that no charges would immediately be filed against Kemp and he was being released from jail.

No one was injured in the shooting that remains under investigation.

Kemp, who owns two licensed cannabis stores in Seattle, was a six-time NBA all-star and played for the Sonics from 1989 to 1997.
