EVERSON, Wash. – A hostile situation at a business in Everson led to the arrest of an employee.

Everson Police said that the employee was intoxicated at their workplace on Sunday afternoon, April 9th.

The suspect became agitated and threatened to cut a coworker’s throat.

Sumas Police and Whatcom County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted in evacuating employees and customers from the business.

Police arrested the suspect, 23-year-old Roberto Gutierrez, on a felony harassment charge.

He remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
