OLYMPIA, Wash. – Governor Jay Inslee has signed off on a law aimed at curbing illegal drug production in Washington state.
The Governor signed HB 1209 on Tuesday, April 18th, which makes the possession or sale of pill presses a felony.
Pill presses will only be legally allowed in legitimate, medical settings.
Lawmakers found that the presses are being used to manufacture fake pills, which are often laced with fentanyl or other substances.
The law will take effect in July.
