OLYMPIA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – More federal aid has opened up for anyone who lost their job due to last December’s flooding.
Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is now available to eligible workers who don’t qualify for unemployment benefits.
Whatcom and Skagit are among 10 counties that qualify for the aid, along with the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Indian Tribe.
Residents could receive the aid if they experienced at least one week of full or partial unemployment, or had their hours reduced due to the flooding.
The deadline to apply for DUA benefits is June 10.
