WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – If you applied for FEMA disaster assistance after December’s severe storms, flooding and landslides, expect to hear from FEMA soon.
Housing inspectors are beginning visits across several western Washington counties, including Whatcom and Skagit, as well as impacted tribal nations.
Residents may be eligible for federal help if their losses weren’t fully covered by insurance.
After registering, an inspector may call or text from an unfamiliar number to schedule an appointment.
Inspections are free, usually take about 45 minutes, and inspectors will never ask for money.
For further information or to apply, go to disasterassistance.gov, call 800‑621‑3362, or use the FEMA mobile app.
