SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A burn ban has been announced ahead of wildfire season.
Skagit County has scheduled a burn ban for unincorporated parts of the county beginning on June 15.
Any burn permits issued beyond that date are being suspended.
Other types of fires for recreation or cooking are still allowed during the ban, but prospective burners must follow the county’s safety guidelines.
That includes limits on what can be burned and how large a fire pit can be during optimal conditions.
Skagit County adds that all outdoor burning is prohibited when a Red Flag Warning or an Air Quality Alert is in effect.
