The 2nd-seeded Lynden girls beat 8th-seeded Columbia River 50-34 this afternoon on KPUG.

Sophomore Payton Mills led the team with 15 points and freshman Finley Parcher added 13.

The Lions advance to face 5th-seeded Clarkston in the semifinals tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.

If they win, they’ll play the winner of top-seeded Ellensburg vs Prosser for the 2A state title.

 

The 2nd-seeded Lynden Christian boys beat 9th-seeded King’s 61-32 on KGMI.

Senior Jeremiah Wright led the team with 18 points.

The Lyncs advance to face 3rd-seeded Annie Wright in the semifinals tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.

If they win, they’ll play the winner of top-seeded Zillah vs Seattle Academy for the 1A state title.

 

The Lummi Nation boys were upset by Mossyrock this morning in the 1B state quarterfinals to snap the Blackhawks’ 22-game win streak.

Top-seeded Lummi trailed nearly the entire game in their 59-43 loss to 7th-seeded Mossyrock at Spokane Arena.

Mossyrock senior Zach Munoz finished with a game-high 31 points for the Vikings.

Lummi Nation had won their earlier matchup this season 73-53.

Mossyrock now advances to play 4th-seeded DeSales in the semifinals.

The Blackhawks fall to the consolation bracket and will play 6th-seeded Cusick tomorrow at 9 a.m.

The 11th-seeded Blackhawks fell to 6th-seeded Oakesdale 44-35 in the 1B tournament opener.

The Blackhawks end the season with an 18-9 record.

The Seattle Kraken are back tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Kraken are coming off wins over two of the NHL’s best teams in Boston and Vancouver.

They’ll look to snap the Penguin’s three game win streak.

The Seattle Mariners lost a tight one in Cactus League play today.

The M’s fell to the Chicago White Sox 6-5 after leading for most of the game.

The White Sox trailed 5-3 going into the seventh inning, but scored three runs on a solo homer and 2-run double to take the win.

Brian Anderson and Cole Young each hit home runs for Seattle.

They now drop to 1-4 in spring training.
