The Mariners are looking to strike back against the Rangers this weekend after a close loss last night.

The M’s lost 5-4 thanks to a 3-run eighth inning by the Rangers that began with a solo home run by Nathaniel Lowe.

Bryce Miller allowed just one run through six innings in the start, but it was Collin Snider who took the loss for allowing three runs in the eighth, though only one was earned.

Justin Turner hit a solo home run for the M’s and Randy Arozarena added a 2-run single in the loss.

The Mariners have now fallen 4.5 games back from the Astros for first place in the AL West and sit just three games above the Rangers.

They’ll look to even up the series tonight with Emerson Hancock making his return to the mound.

Coverage begins at 6 pm and first pitch is at 7:10 on KGMI.

The Seahawks are on the East Coast this weekend for Week Two of the NFL season.

They’re facing the Patriots in their first season without legendary head coach Bill Belichick.

The Seahawks are coming off a 26-20 win over the Broncos, while the Pats will look to maintain momentum following their 16-10 upset of the Bengals.

Seattle could be without starting running back Kenneth Walker after he missed all their practices this week with an oblique injury.

Their offense would miss him after his 103 yards and a touchdown were key in their second-half rally to beat Denver last weekend.

Nevertheless, Mike Macdonald and the Hawks will look to leave New England with a 2-0 record.

Coverage for Sunday’s game begins at 8 a.m. and kickoff is at 10 on KPUG.

The Apple Cup is back this weekend, but not exactly the same.

Tomorrow’s 116th matchup between Washington and Washington State usually takes place on Thanksgiving weekend.

But there’s plenty of differences this year in their first non-conference game following UW’s departure to the Big 10 last summer.

Both schools are 2-0 to start the season.

The matchup will pit a Huskies defense that has yet to allow a touchdown against a Cougs offense that has scored 107 points between its first two games.

Coverage for tomorrow’s game starts at 10:30 a.m. and kickoff is at 12:30 on KPUG.
