The Mariners are continuing their biggest series of the season tonight against the Houston Astros.

The M’s won the opener 6-1 last night in what will be a must-win series for their hopes of stealing the AL West.

Bryce Miller threw seven shutout innings and Julio Rodriguez had three hits and two RBI in the win.

The division-leading Astros still hold a four-game lead over the Mariners.

Meanwhile, the M’s are trailing the Kansas City Royals by just a game and a half in the race for the final Wild Card spot.

Seattle will look to close the gap again in Houston tonight for Game Two with Logan Gilbert on the mound.

Coverage begins at 4:00 and first pitch is at 5:10 on KPUG.

The Seattle Storm are playing with their season on the line tonight.

The Storm are in Las Vegas for Game Two out of a best-of-three series against the 2x defending champion Aces.

Seattle lost Game One on Sunday 78-67 on a day where Aces star A’ja Wilson scored 21 points just hours after being named the league’s second-ever unanimous MVP.

The Storm are now looking to extend their playoff journey to a deciding Game Three that would take place in Seattle.

Tonight’s game tips off at 6:30.

The Seahawks could be adding a familiar face to their battered offensive line.

ESPN reports the team hosted veteran offensive tackle Jason Peters for a free agent visit today.

The 42-year-old Peters made a pair of starts over eight games with Seattle in 2023.

His help could be much needed for an offensive line group that is playing without starting tackles Abraham Lucas and George Fant.

Lucas is on the physically unable to perform list and can’t return until Week 5 at the earliest, and Fant was recently placed on the injured reserve, sidelining him for at least four games.

The Pac-12 is suing the Mountain West over fees that could cost the conference over $40 million in “poaching penalties.”

The Mountain West is charging upwards of $17 million for each school that left after Boise State, Fresno State, Colorado State and San Diego State announced they were moving to the Pac-12 in 2026.

The Pac-12 calls the fees “unlawful and unenforceable” in its lawsuit filed today in federal court.

It comes as ESPN reports that a fifth school, Utah State, has accepted an invitation to join the Pac-12 as its seventh member, though neither the school nor conference has officially announced the move.

That would leave the Pac-12 just one school shy of the eight it needs to remain an official conference.

Multiple reports have surfaced that basketball-powerhouse Gonzaga could join the Pac-12, despite not having a football program.

The Bellingham Bells have found their new coach.

The team announced today that it hired West Coast League veteran Ed Knaggs as its newest skipper.

Knaggs spent 13 seasons as head coach of the Wenatchee AppleSox and, most recently, five seasons as associate head coach of the Corvallis Knights.

Between his two stints, he won 9 WCL titles – five with Wenatchee and four with Corvallis.

The decision comes after last season’s head coach Bob Ralston announced he was stepping down for personal reasons.

Along with Knaggs, the team announced today that former Bells head coach Jim Clem will return as pitching coach.

Clem spent 11 seasons as the team’s pitching coach from 2011 through 2021 before acting as head coach in 2022 and 2023.

The Bells say they’ll announce the rest of their coaching staff in the coming months.
