BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Bellingham’s legal system will be opening their doors to the public later this month in celebration of Law Day.

The Bellingham Municipal Court says several events will be held between April 22 and May 5 to educate the community on the workings of the local court system. The court will feature court proceedings, meet-and-greets with judges and legal professionals, canine demonstrations and drone presentations.

Eighth graders from Bellingham middle schools will also be in attendance at some of these events as part of a partnership.

Law Day events will be held at the Bellingham Municipal Court building at 2014 C St. Below is a list of dates and times which the court will be open to the public:

  • April 22, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
  • April 28, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
  • April 29, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
  • May 1, 9:30 – 11 a.m.
  • May 2, 9:30 – 11 a.m.
  • May 5, 1:30 – 3 p.m.

Law Day was established by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1958 to give the public an opportunity to understand how the legal system works.
