SUMAS, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Local officials are hosting a public meeting on flood prevention. 

Whatcom County Public Works and the City of Sumas are hosting a flood planning meeting on Thursday, Oct. 29.

Attendees will learn more about the city and county’s flood planning project and what they are doing to reduce future flood risks in the Sumas area.

Officials will also take questions, comments and suggestions from the public.

The meeting is at the American Legion Post 212 location at 134 Harrison St in Sumas and will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
