WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Whatcom County’s renowned multi-sport relay race is less than a week away.

Thousands will be in attendance for Ski to Sea this Sunday as racers trek from Mt. Baker to the finish line in Fairhaven.

The team from Birch Equipment will look to continue its recent stretch of dominance after winning for the third straight time last year.

Anyone who wants to watch the start of the race at Mount Baker Lodge will have to get to the top of the mountain before it closes at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday.

The final leg finishes up at Marine Park in the early afternoon and the after-party will extend farther into Fairhaven.

WTA is offering extra service, with trips taking place every 15 minutes between Western Washington University and the Fairhaven Festival.
