SEATTLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – If you feel like it’s been getting more expensive to eat out, you’re not alone.

According to a new study from the Washington Hospitality Association, our state has the highest cost of dining in the lower 48 states.

The organization compared the online menu prices of two popular entrees from each of the 20 largest restaurant chains in the country. It found that prices in Washington were nearly 14% higher than the national average.

Seattle ranked second behind San Francisco as the priciest major cities in the country.

Overall, the South and Midwest are the most affordable regions, while the West Coast and parts of the Northeast are the most expensive.
