BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Verizon is laying off over 100 employees across the state, including nearly a dozen in Bellingham.
The telecommunications giant says it plans to cut 165 workers across 23 locations in a recent filing with the state Employment Security Department.
The effected areas include Verizon’s Meridian Street location in Bellingham, where it expects 11 employees to be affected.
It adds that the location is being handed over to an agent and will no longer be operated by Verizon.
Three employees from Burlington and 54 more remote workers living in Washington are also included in the layoffs.
In the filing, the company says it’s “consolidating and restructuring its operations to maximize the utilization of company facilities and resources.”
The layoffs are expected to begin on Jan. 23, 2026.
