BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – New Year’s Eve will bring plenty of bang around our region – and pyromaniacs are being urged to use caution.
A Whatcom County ordinance allows people to set off fireworks in unincorporated areas from 6 p.m. until 1 a.m. on Wednesday night.
That does not include the Columbia Valley area, which has been placed under a Stage 1 air quality burn ban until further notice.
Certain pyrotechnics, such as bottle rockets and firecrackers, can only be bought and used on tribal territories.
As a reminder, setting off fireworks within Bellingham city limits is illegal.
