Seahawks News

The Seahawks added a big name to their defense today in one of their final major moves of the offseason.

The NFL Network reports that the team is signing veteran edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million. The 31-year-old will look to replace some of Boye Mafe’s production in the edge rotation for the Hawks after Mafe left for Cincinnati in free agency.

Fowler was a former third overall pick in the draft and has plenty of experience with some of his Seahawks counterparts. Seattle defensive coordinator Aiden Durde previously coached him in both Atlanta and Dallas, and Fowler played alongside his fellow Seahawks edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence with the Cowboys for two seasons.

Fowler started 11 of 17 games for Dallas last season, finishing with just three sacks on the year, his fewest since 2020.

Mariners News

The Mariners are back tonight as they look to build on momentum from yesterday’s comeback win.

The M’s topped the Braves 5-4 yesterday in their opener at T-Mobile Park.

The Braves, who own the best record in the majors, hit four solo home runs to open the game before Seattle responded in the bottom of the sixth. Luke Raley hit a three-run shot and JP Crawford hit a go-ahead 2-run homer to give the M’s the lead, which they would hold on to.

Logan Gilbert gave up four runs through six innings to earn the win and help Seattle snap its three-game skid. Mariners fans got more good news as Cal Raleigh is set to make his return to the lineup tonight after missing their last three games with a sore right side.

George Kirby is on the mound as the M’s look to secure their series against the #1 team in baseball. Coverage begins at 5:30 and first pitch is at 6:40 on KPUG.
