The Seahawks’ division rival made a blockbuster trade this morning that shook the NFL world.
The Los Angeles Rams sent Pro Bowl pass rusher Jared Verse and three draft picks to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for 2x Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. Those Rams draft picks included a 2027 first-rounder, along with a 2028 second and a 2029 third.
It continues a massive offseason for LA, who traded for Trent McDuffie from the Chiefs and made him the highest paid cornerback in the league.
The Seahawks’ Week 1 opponent also added a big name today. The New England Patriots sent a 2028 first-rounder and a 2027 fifth to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for 3x Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Brown.
A former Seahawks star is heading to the broadcast booth.
ESPN reports that Russell Wilson is finalizing a deal to become an analyst with CBS Sports.
It’s currently unclear whether Wilson is retiring or just hitting pause on his playing career. He also had an offer on the table from the New York Jets to backup former Seahawks teammate Geno Smith.

The Mariners are continuing their homestand tonight on the heels of another impressive series.
The M’s are playing their series opener against the New York Mets after walking off the Diamondbacks yesterday.
Victor Robles hit a single in the 10th inning for his first career walk-off to lead Seattle over Arizona 3-2 in their second straight series sweep. Bryce Miller threw five shutout innings and Luis Castillo followed with five more while only giving up one earned run.
The M’s now have a two and a half game lead over the Athletics for first place in the AL West and own a winning record for the first time in two months.
They’ll look to win their seventh straight tonight with Emerson Hancock on the mound against the Mets. Coverage begins at 5:30 and first pitch is at 6:40 on KPUG.

The Bells had a successful opening weekend of the season.
The team won two out of three games on the road against the Kelowna Falcons.
The Bells only gave up two hits over a shutout win in their season opener Friday, but suffered their first loss yesterday after getting lit up for 13 runs. First baseman Noah Cassie highlighted the series with a double and a home run.
They’re back in Bellingham now ahead of their home opener and championship celebration tomorrow night against the Wenatchee AppleSox. First pitch is at 6:35 from Joe Martin Field.
Prep Boys Soccer News
A pair of Whatcom County schools fell just short in the state boys soccer championships over the weekend.
Squalicum got edged out by Bainbridge 2-1 in the 2A title game on Saturday after falling 3-1 in a penalty kick shootout. It was the Storm’s first loss of the season.
Meridian also fell in their title game, losing to Vashon Island 3-0 in the 1A championship. It concluded a magical run for the 12th-seeded Trojans, who finished with their highest placing in school history.
Meanwhile, Sehome lost to Columbia River 2-1 in the 2A 3rd place game.
