BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham woman with an active warrant is back behind bars after police say she stole a car.

Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy said officers were called to a report of a stolen car and assault on Northwest Avenue Friday morning, June 26.

According to Murphy, they learned that a man had been pepper sprayed in the face by a female acquaintance, who stole his car.

Washington State Patrol troopers later found the stolen car on Marine Drive and tracked the woman to a nearby house, where she was arrested.

Law enforcement also discovered she had an active Washington Department of Corrections warrant stemming from an attempted armed robbery at a Bellingham 7-Eleven in 2021.

The 29-year-old woman was booked into the Whatcom County Jail, where she remains without bail.
