BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A longtime staple of the downtown Bellingham coffee scene has closed its doors.

Avellino Coffee House has announced their closure after more than 20 years in business.

The store posted a sign on their door stating that last Saturday, July 11, was their final day, though no specific reason was given. In their letter, the owners expressed their appreciation for the community support they received over the years.

Avellino staff did not respond for comment as of publishing.

The coffeehouse also sold homemade baked goods at their location on Railroad Street.

The closure comes roughly a year after their sister business Avellino Gluten Free Bakery closed.
