BIRCH BAY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – At least one person was hurt and two others are in custody following a suspected gang-related shooting in Birch Bay.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office says that deputies responded to the shooting on Birch Bay Dr around 7:15 pm Sunday, Sept. 5. One person was taken to Peacehealth St Joseph Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting occurred between members of two motorcycle gangs. According to Whatcom County Jail records, a 54-year-old man and a 31-year-old man were arrested in connection to the shooting.
The Sheriff’s Office adds that the incident does not pose any further threat to the public at this time. Anyone who may have additional information on the shooting is asked to contact their tip line at 360-778-6663.
