BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham company is seeing favorable results after switching to a four-day work week.
Custom apparel manufacturer Brist Mfg. saw a 35% year-over-year growth in their business after they made the change to four, 10-hour work days.
The suggestion came from a team member in 2021 after company morale slumped because of the pandemic.
The initial trial was meant to last two months, but the company kept extending it after productivity stayed high.
CEO Brendan Pape said that opting for the four-day work week has resulted in happier employees and has prompted him to consider other changes to the business.
