OLYMPIA, Wash. – More jobs were created in Washington state last month, continuing a hot streak that began around this time last year.
The state’s Employment Security Dept reported an estimated 15,300 new jobs were added in February, up about 3,000 jobs from January’s total.
Unemployment in Washington remained at 4.6%, unchanged from the prior month.
That is slightly higher than the nationwide unemployment average of 3.6%.
Most new jobs were created in professional and business services, education, and health services.
