SEATTLE, Wash. – A Mount Vernon man will spend the next 10 years in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Santos Gutierrez-Fosella was sentenced in federal court in Seattle on Wednesday, March 29th.

The U.S. Attorney in Seattle says 24-year-old Gutierrez-Fosella bought $130,000 worth of fentanyl pills in Arizona to sell in northwest Washington.

He was pulled over with two other men in March 2022, and officers found them in possession of fentanyl, meth, cash and five firearms including a ghost gun.

The others were also charged and face federal prison sentences.

Officers from Skagit County, Swinomish Tribal Police and the Mount Vernon Police Department assisted federal agents in the investigation.
