BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Businesses and property owners that have been affected by recent wildfires in Washington state could be eligible for tax relief resources.
Property owners whose properties were damaged or destroyed by the fires can apply to their County Assessor get a tax break.
This year’s property taxes could be reduced based on any value lost from the fires.
Any businesses impacted by the fires that were unable to file and pay their excise tax returns on time are also included.
They should contact the state Department of Revenue to request a filing extension before the deadline.
