BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A pair of local brewing legends will soon be part of an exclusive statewide club.

The Washington Brewers Guild has announced the newest inductees to its Hall of Fame, which debuted its inaugural lineup last year.

This year’s winners include Ed Bennett and Janet Lightner, co-founders of the original Boundary Bay Brewery and owners of Boundary on State.

The couple opened Boundary Bay at its original home on Railroad Avenue in 1995.

Taps of craft beer flowed for 30 years before the building’s owners chose to sell the property last September.

My Bellingham Now previously reported on the opening of Boundary on State in June, which is being operated by Lightner’s daughter Madison Pugmire and brewer Connor Cottrill.

Lightner and Bennett join fellow local legends Mari and Will Kemper of Chuckanut Brewery in the Washington Brewers Guild Hall of Fame.

Their induction ceremony will be held on Nov. 2 at the Washington Craft Beer Summit in SeaTac.
